My very first audition in London in 2005 - having secured an agent - landed me a job.  On the West End.  I was a very happy immigrant.

I played Roger Whittaker in Aaron Sorkin's play A Few Good Men. (I didn't know it had first been a play either ... let alone an Aaron Sorkin play.) We played Her Majesty's Theatre Haymarket - a lush theatre with gold cherubs - for just under 6 months. Dame Judi Dench has said she would be happy to die there.

Our star - Rob Lowe - was impeccable ... and a nice bloke. John Barrowman got the thumbs up on the Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood during the run. Suranne jones was just beautiful and fun and talented and made us all laugh a lot.

Aaron sat on the audition panel and was present and involved for the complete rehearsal period.  A charming, smiling energy that we all enjoyed having around for so long.

An extraordinary gig that kicked off my very happy decade in the U.K.
